Project Description
Something for Everyone
I was three years old sitting on a man’s lap I had met only an hour earlier. Another stranger was telling me to pretend the man was my dad and pinch his nose as we sat under a tree in the latest fall fashions with a woman cast as my mom. We were there to sell an ideal. We were modeling not just clothes, but togetherness. A great “family moment” – one that most family photography clients would love to have – coordinated, prompted, and perfect.
Now, I am an adult with two kids, a photography business, and living in the family tourism capital of America. I am drawn to make images of truly authentic moments for real families- those that have been promised in ads, but more so the ones that may go unnoticed if it wasn’t for me.
Something for Everyone is an evolving collection of images that show real family life around Central Florida as art – valuable and worth preserving – while also begging the question, is this an ad?
